The Founding Specialty Commission on Fluency Disorders (consisting of the division's five- member Steering Committee) recently submitted the commission's operations and procedures manual to the Clinical Specialty Board for its approval. In addition, the commission completed arrangements for the incorporation of the commission and for filing for a tax-exempt status upon receipt of the Clinical Specialty Board's final approval of the commission's manual. We anticipate receipt of the board's approval in May 1998.
Upon receipt of the Clinical Specialty Board's approval, the commission members will immediately proceed with incorporation and with filing for a tax-exempt status. In addition, the Founding Specialty Commission on Fluency Disorders will initiate the process dictated by the commission's by-laws of the Charter Specialty Commission on Fluency Disorders. The Bylaws specify that:
