The Specialty Board on Fluency Disorders (SBFD) would like to extend a sincere thank you to Charlie Healey, Susan Cochrane, and Annie Bradberry for their service, dedication, and commitment over the past 3 years as board members. We would also like to welcome newly elected board members Dale Williams and Gary Rentschler and consumer representative Jim McClure (appointed to the board for one year). Their terms began on January 1.
The SBFD met at ASHA and decided that several issues needed to be given priority over the next year. The major project will entail updating the Web site in an effort to increase communication with the membership. This priority will be managed by our new vice chair, Dale Williams, who will address the issues with our technology consult in Florida. In the future, we can hope to keep in touch through the Web site and electronic mailings. This would greatly cut costs and allow for quicker transmission of information.
